Melissa L. Dempsey, 49, passed away on Tuesday, June 20, 2017, at her residence in Brandon, Mississippi. Visitation will be Thursday, June 22, 2017, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Nowell Massey Funeral Home in Louisville, Mississippi. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Friday, June 23, 2017 in the Nowell Massey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rob Faulk officiating. Interment will follow in Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery.
Ms. Dempsey was born June 10, 1968, to Brice and Ann Ellingburg Dempsey. She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church. Melissa enjoyed fishing, was a rescuer of animals and loved her yearly trips to the beach in Florida with her family.
Melissa is survived by her two daughters, Laken Keller and husband, Justin of Louisville; Julie Clair VanDevender of Brandon; and by two sons, Seth Smith and Logan VanDevender both of Brandon. One of her greatest joys was being “Nana” to her granddaughter, Olivia Keller. Also left to mourn her passing is her mother, Ann Ellingburg and her father, Brice Dempsey and wife Nancy; and her brother, Jason Ellingburg all of Louisville.
Serving as pallbearers will be Raymond Dempsey, Sammy Dempsey, Blake Ellingburg, Cole Ellingburg, Robert Harrison and Michael Huntley. Donations may be given to Nowell Massey Funeral Home to help defray funeral expenses.
Services are under the direction of Nowell-Massey Funeral Home, 724 North Columbus Avenue, Louisville, MS. Memories and condolences may be shared with
