At some point after arriving in The United States, he changed the spelling of his last name to Albright. He married Minnie (Maas). Their children were: Hulda (Breitner), Eamiel "Harmon," Albert, August "Gust," William, Charles F., Ida (Langtry) & Bertha (never married).
Charles fought in the Union Army, 7th Michigan Infantry Regiment, Company I, during the American Civil War. He was wounded in battle on May 12, 1864 at Spotsylvania Courthouse, VA. He returned home to Petersburg, Michigan in July of 1865 and lived there until his death in 1925.
