Timothy P. Burkland, 58, of Danville, passed away on Thursday, June 15, 2017, at his residence.
He was born Oct. 24, 1958, in Danville, a son of the late Rolland and Mary Ellen (Leitzel) Burkland.
Tim was a 1976 graduate of Danville High School.
He was employed as a telecommunications installer at various telecommunication companies throughout the years.
He was a member of the Danville Moose, the American Legion Post 40, the Danville VFW, and several fire companies.
Tim enjoyed golfing. He was an avid football fan, especially for the Oakland Raiders and Penn State. He also enjoyed attending NASCAR races. A very social person, Tim had a wonderful sense of humor who loved the time spent with his friends and his family.
He is survived by his longtime companion, Karen "Squirrel" Baum, of Danville; two brothers, Rolland "Butch" Burkland, of Scranton, and David A. Burkland, of Danville; two sisters, Barbara A. Womer and her husband Larry, of Mount Pleasant Mills, and Laura Susan Klinger, of Danville; and numerous nieces and nephews including Jason A. Burkland and Heidi N. Burkland, both of Sunbury.
A celebration of Tim's life will be held at a later date.
Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements are under the direction of Visneski Funeral Home Inc., 10 W. Mahoning St., Danville.
