Lawrence & Sweet Violet Bryans Rainey were married 27 Dec 1922

Lawrence ran a store in Swink for a few years before going to Hugo. He was also he postmaster there.

Larence served in the Army during WW l. He was gassed and spent time in a hospital in France. He operated the Rainey Plumbing Company in Hugo until his death. During the course of his work he had helped the colored people and they requested that they be permitted to attend the funeral. A place was reserved for them in the church.

He died at the VA Hospital in McKinney, TX
