DEATH CLAIMS MRS. ANDERSON
MURPHY - Funeral services will be held Sunday at 11 a.m. in the Bethabara Baptist Church for Mrs. Samantha Davenport Anderson, 79, widow of W. M. Anderson of Shooting Creek, who died at her home Saturday morning.
The Rev. Andy Cloer and the Rev. Boyd Hogsed will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.
A member of a prominent Clay County family, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Nancy Burch Davenport, and had been an active member of the church for more than 65 years.
Surviving are seven daughters. Mrs. Talley Anderson, Mrs. Neal Ledford, Mrs. Mayden Hogsed, Mrs. Leonard Burrell. Mrs. Charles Hogsed and Mrs. Earl Crawford, all of Clay County, and Mrs. Keefer Garrett of Hiwassee, Ga., 39 grandchildren, two sons, Ed and Perry of Shooting Creek; one brother, T. M. Davenport of Hayesville; two sisters, Mrs. John Nichols of Hayesville and Mrs. Arvill Anderson of Shooting Creek.
Townson Funeral Home is in charge.
