Arvin C. Abbey, 80, of Germantown, retired vice president of Tension Envelope Inc. after 50 years, died Saturday at Methodist Le Bonheur Germantown Hospital. Services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Memphis Funeral Home Poplar Chapel with burial in West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery. He was a World War II Army veteran, a Mason, and member of Olive Branch Country Club and American Contract Bridge League. Mr. Abbey, the husband of Marguerite Abbey for 62 years, also leaves three daughters, Marguerite Anne Ruffner-Winkler of Cordova, and Dr. Diane Abbey and Susan Abbey, both of Memphis; a son, Stan Abbey of Germantown; a brother, Dr. Fletcher Abbey of Walnut Creek, Calif., six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
