Rosie Ann Alexander, 89, of Springfield, passed away at 8:46 a.m. on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at Lewis Memorial Christian Village. Rosie was born December 10, 1927 in Springfield, the daughter of Antonio and Vitalena Antonacci Alexander.

Rosie was a 1945 graduate of Sacred Heart Academy. She retired from Illinois Bell where she worked as a switchboard operator. Rosie was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. She loved to drink coffee, watch Lawrence Welk, and shop.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, John and Frank Alexander; and two sisters, Lily Locker and Julia Tate.

She is survived by her sister, Linda Curtin of Palos Park; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, June 19, 2017 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, Springfield. The visitation will begin with a prayer service.

Funeral Mass: 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at Cathedral Church of the Immaculate Conception, Springfield, with Rev. Christopher House celebrant. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
