Aunt Artie and Uncle Albert lived in an old box car in Hart, Tx when I was small. We used to visit them as a family on weekends (when we lived in Halfway,TX) to play dominoes. There was a room at the end of the boxcar that we kids used to prowl into. Aunt Artie had quilts, puzzles, an old movie camers, and lots of goodies for us to get into. We weren't supposed to be in there! I still remember the big circle driveway of dirt in front of the house where we played until sundown. Aunt Artie made the best fried potatoes because they had black pepper sprinkled on them.......we never had them at home perpared that way. She kept a slop bucket by the dining room table, and I remember once stepping into it. I also remember once when Aunt Artie and some of the ladies plucked some chickens. I will never forget the awful smell of the hot wet feathers!
