Dale Barnett, 79, of Salem and Mount Pleasant, died at New London Nursing and Rehab Center.

Born in Bonaparte, he was the son of James and Elsie Poole Barnett.

Mr. Barnett worked at the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant in Middletown, drove a Head Start bus for a few years, had an Iowa Parcel route and worked in food service at the Henry County home.

Survivors include two sons, Mike Barnett of Palmyra, Tenn., and Tom Barnett of Clarksville, Tenn.; one daughter, Robin Snyder of Nevada, Iowa; one stepson, Mike Stone of Davenport; one stepdaughter, Lisa Elmore of Waynesville, Mo.; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one grandson and one brother.

The funeral was held at Beatty–Murphy Funeral Home with the Rev. Harold Dorsey officiating.
