Vergil Cobb, 99, passed away Wednesday June 14 in Owenton. He was born in Owen County the son of the late Newt and Artie Brumback Cobb and was also preceded by his wife Dorothy Lusby Cobb. He was a member of Owenton First Baptist Church and was a farmer having milked for 27 years along with raising tobacco and hay. He was also a WW II veteran having served in the Army.
He is survived by his sons Danny and Lanny Cobb, his four grandchildren, Abby (Jon) Gray, Katey (Daniel) Preston, Lacey Cobb and Timothy (Stephanie) Cobb, and four great grandchildren, Sidney, Spencer, Hudson and Hattie. Visitation is Friday June 16 from 5 to 8 at Main St. The funeral is Saturday at 11 AM. Burial will follow in the Owenton Cemetery and memorials may be made to Owenton First Baptist Church.
