Robert Earl MURPHY, 72, of 1235 Lakeshore Drive, died at 7:40 p.m. Monday at Veteran's Hospital, Fort Wayne, after a year-long illness.
He was born in Logansport to Earl and Edna GEER MURPHY. On Aug. 31, 1970 in Valparaiso he married Edna Dawn LAW SEEBAUER, who survives. He was a real estate broker and insurance salesman. From 1974-1979 he owned and operated Murphy's Times Theatre in Rochester. He was co-owner of White Mortgage, Portage. He was a member of the First Church of Christ, Scientist in Plymouth; the Elks Lodge, Fort Wayne, and the Masonic Lodge and Rotary Club in Valparaiso. He was a 1939 graduate of Plymouth High School and was an Air Force veteran of World War II. He had lived in Rochester since 1974, moving here from Valparaiso and Portage.
Surviving with his wife are a daugher, Mrs. Stan (Julie Lynn) HOPKINS, Lafayette; three step-daughters, Mrs. Jim (Rebecca) THOMAS, Lohman, Mo.; Mrs. Jim (Joyce) NEDOFF, Kannapolis, N.C., and Mrs. Tim (Janet) WAGONER, Rochester; two step-sons, Richard, wife Gina, SEEBAUER, Palm Beach, Fla., and Mike, wife Cindy, SEEBAUER, Madison; fourteen grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; his step-mother, Rosie MURPHY, Kokomo; a sister, Marie WHITTAKER, Rochester, and two brothers, Joe [MURPHY], Conway, Ark., and Dan [MURPHY], Orange, Calif.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Foster & Good Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Plymouth
