Ruby Ann Nicholson, 76, of Shenandoah, died on Saturday, June 10, 2017, at Sentara RMH Medical Center.
She was born on April 14, 1941, in Page County and was a daughter of the late Hulbert and Ethel Jewell.
Mrs. Nicholson was a hairdresser. She owned her own business in Elkton for 25 years and later worked at the Hair Cuttery in Harrisonburg until retiring in 2014. She attended the Shenandoah Pentecostal Holiness Church and played the piano for several groups in the Elkton area.
On Aug. 15, 1996, she married Frank Nicholson, who survives.
Surviving in addition to her husband are a daughter, Donna Cave; three sons, Craig, Allen and Will Nicholson; one brother, Donnie Jewell; two sisters, Bonnie Robichaud and Sandy Kite; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Mark T. Jewell, Wayne Blosser and Denver Blosser.
A celebration of life service was conducted on Tuesday, June 13, at the Kyger Funeral Home in Elkton by Pastor Jimmy Kite. Burial was private at the Newport Christian Church Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the building fund at the Shenandoah Pentecostal Holiness Church.
