Retired Colonel Edwin P. Geesey passed away peacefully on April 15, 2017. Edwin, 83, was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on July 23, 1933, to Edwin and Ruth Geesey. He was known to many as a dedicated soldier, a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
Edwin spent his career serving in the United States Army. As an Army Officer for over 26 years, he spent his life dedicated to family, military, and his country. During his tenure, he served two overseas tours with the 101st Airborne division. He was a well-decorated officer who received countless achievements including two Bronze Stars. Edwin and his wife of 63 years, Diane, resided in Vienna, Virginia.

Edwin is survived by his beloved wife Diane (Harris) Geesey; six daughters: Deena Layman (husband, Larry), Sue Filipowicz (husband, Pete), Elizabeth Balleza (husband, Sito), Wendy Geesey, Jenny DeBoard (husband, Brett), and Kristie Jarrett (husband, Kurt). Also surviving are 17 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will held on April 23rd, 2017, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Adams-Green Funeral Home located in Herndon, Virginia. Funeral services will be held at 5:00 PM at the same location. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Edwin's name to the Wounded Warriors Project.
