SCHWEITZER ( nee PIACENTINE) ANNA V - died peacefully at Victorian Manor on March 3, 2017. Anna was the wife of the late Louis S Schweitzer, USCG. She was born in Cape May in 1920 where she lived and raised her family for 96 years. She was a graduate of Our Lady Star of the Sea School and Cape May High School. she enjoyed traveling, watching sports, attending baseball games, cooking and entertaining but most of all, spending time with her children and grandchildren. In her spare time she volunteered for the Cape May Rescue Squad; was an active member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Church and School(President of the PTA). Anna was employed by Rickers on the boardwalk; Central Pharmacy on the Cape May Mall and the historic Cape May Lighthouse. She was also the proud recipient of the "Citizen of the Year Award" and the past member of the US Coast Guard Officers Wives Club. She was blessed to have a loving family of four children, Donna Fitzpatrick-Conard(John), Jay Schweitzer(Anita), Joanne McGaha(Wayne),Gregory Schweitzer(Rebecca); nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Religion was a big part of Anna's life. She was prepared to go home to meet the Lord. Mass Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday (March 18th) at 11am in Our Lady Star of the Sea Church, 525 Washington St, Cape May where friends will be received from 10am - 11am. Interment will follow in St Mary's Cem, Cape May.
