Mr. Frank Leonard Trevathan, formerly of Chesapeake, entered into rest on Tuesday, February 20, 2007 at Augusta Hills Nursing Home after an extended illness. He was born on March 27, 1924, in South Norfolk, VA and resided in Grovetown, GA. He retired from the City of Norfolk in 1988. He was predeceased by his mother and father, Rena Castillo Trevathan and James Frank Trevathan and also his wife, Margaret Emily Gardner Trevathan. Survivors include a daughter, Vivian (George) Cayia of Ocala, FL; four sons, Cullan Larry (Nuran) Trevathan of Melbourne, FL, Mitchell Eugene (Judy) Trevathan of Grovetown, GA, James Melvin (Lola) Trevathan of Muscoy, CA, and Charles Mack (Charlotte) Trevathan of Norfolk, VA, 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1 PM, Friday, February 23, 2007, in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, 6309 East Virginia Beach Blvd, Norfolk with Rev. Henry V. Napier, officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Francis Gay Chapel of Oman Funeral Home, 1146 Rodgers Street, Chesapeake, VA 23324. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to United Hospice, 1226 Augusta West Parkway, Augusta, GA 30909.
