Howard 63, passed away on Monday February 19, 2007. He was born on October 21, 1943 in Ft. Myers, FL. He is preceded in death by his father George H. "Homer" Long, son George H. Long Jr., Stepfather Ernest Ballard and brother Steve Ballard. He was a lifetime resident of southwest Florida. He was in the army, participated in the rodeo circuit, drove 18-wheelers and worked various superintendent jobs in the construction industry. Surviving are his daughter, Sherri Long-Marquez (Robert) of Ft. Myers, FL and son Nathan L. "Levi" Long of LaBelle, FL. Step-children, Robyn Hallman of Dundee, FL, Randy James of Chattanooga, TN, Jeff James of Bartow, FL and seven grandchildren. He is also survived by his mother Aleta Ballard of Lehigh Acres, FL. Brothers, Edward Long (Carolyn), Toby Ballard (Debbie) all of LaBelle, FL. Clyde Ballard (Debbie) of Clewiston, FL. Sisters, Margaret Spencer (Tim) of Lawrenceburg, TN, Debbi Dilling (Jim) of Cape Coral, FL. His Aunt Glenda Wagner of Statesville, NC. He had many nieces , nephews, cousins and friends. He will be cremated at his request.
