Burr Oak, Kan., resident William Russell Lewis, 85, died Tuesday, July 22, 1997, at Jewell County Hospital Long Term Care Unit in Mankato, Kan.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday at United Methodist Church in Burr Oak with the Rev. Laura Fricker officiating. Burial will be in Burr Oak Cemetery. Visitation is until 9 p.m. today at Melby Mortuary in Mankato.
Mr. Lewis was born March 16, 1912, to Edwin and Jessie (Mitchell) Lewis in Burr Oak. A lifetime resident of Burr Oak, he was a retired farmer.
He was a member of United Methodist Church.
Survivors are three daughters, Marilyn Hawkins of Kansas City, Mo., Marjorie Thorup of Smith Center, Kan., and Barbara White of Burr Oak; six grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be given to Burr Oak Methodist Church or Jewell County Long Term Care.
