Old Citizen Passed Away

Mrs J.W.Houghton, mother of the Houghton brothers died in the home of her son, Wilmot Houghton on Wednesday afternoon
of last week ,March 30,1910 about 1 p.m. at the advanced
age of 81 years. She had been ailing and failing for sometime and just passed peacefully away, and ebbing away
like a worn out clock, her work was done.
Her husband had died twelve years ago and she had made her home with her son .
Eleven children born to this family, nine still living.
George K.,John L., Wilmot p., Western E., Charley , Horace and Douglas in this county and Mrs Jones and Mrs Harris are Living in Michigan.
Deceased was a devout Christian wife and the bereaved children have a faithful mother and friend . The funeral was held in the Methodist Church last Saturday afternoon . J.G. Dingle preaching the sermon. The floral offerings were beautiful. The remains were laid to rest by the side of her husband in the Cooperstown cemetery .
