Mrs. McQuitty was employed as an office manager for Wolverine Plating Co. in Roseville.
She enjoyed bowling and was a member of various leagues over the years. Relatives described her as a devoted family person who made beautiful and creative greeting cards for herself and others. She also enjoyed stamping.
Mrs. McQuitty was a member of AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary Post 57, Harper Woods. Her zest for life included the beauty of nature, her flower garden, books she read, her ability to solve crossword puzzles and the fun she had playing euchre.
Her family said she was blessed to have shared precious moments with her first grandchild, Vance Mitchell Louzon, who was born Dec. 16, 2006.
She is survived by her husband, Barry; daughters, Lara Leigh (Gene) Louzon of Melvindale and Lindsey Ann Marquardt of Mount Clemens; grandson, Vance; parents, Leo and Dolores (nee Rosinski) Zelmanski Jr.; brothers, Donald (Nona) Zelmanski of Harrison Township, Michael (Diane) Zelmanski of Wixom and Richard (Kathleen) Zelmanski of Clinton Township; sisters, Denise (John) Nemeth of St. Clair and Cheryl (Phil LaSota) Zelmanski of Clinton Township; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Matthias Catholic Church, 12509 19 Mile Road, Sterling Heights, with the Rev. William Bonnici officiating. Burial will be in Clinton Grove Cemetery, Clinton Township.
Visitation is 3-8 p.m. today with a 7 p.m. rosary recital and 2-8 p.m. Wednesday with a 7 p.m. AMVETS Post 57 memorial service at Harold W. Vick Funeral Home, 140 S. Main St., Mount Clemens. Additional visitation is 10:30-11 a.m. Thursday at the church.
