Ernest Ignatius Norris, Sr. 73. of Lusby, formerly of Leonardtown., MD, died Nov 19 1995 in Calvert Memorial Hospital in Prince Frederick.
Born in Great Mills on Nov 18, 1922 he was the son of the late Herbert Eugene and Mary Lucille Norris.
He was the husband of Mildred L Norris whom he married on April 19 1944 at Our Lady's Catholic Church in Medlev's Neck.
He was the father of Thomas Merle Norris, Frances Ellen Ouade and Mildred Anne Norris all of Leonardtown and Ernest I Norris Jr of Lusby.
He was the brother of Joseph Norris, SR, of Chaptico. Thomas E Norris of Park Hall, Herbert E Norris of Hollywood, Robert D Norris of Mechanicsville, Charles B Norris of Texas, Mary Virginia Bean of Florida, Mary Elizabeth Reddehase of Texas, Cora Frances Redman and Agnes Mane Higgs both of Leonardtown. As well as the late James Allen Norris, Andrew Paul Norris and Alice Haley.
He is also survived by 10 grand children and four great grandchildren.
Mr Norris worked for Fenwick Ford in Leonardtown for more than 30 years retiring in 1986 He also enjoyed farming, fishing and gardening.
Prayers were said Nov 21 at Mattingley Gardiner Funeral Home in Leonardtown A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Nov 22 at Our Lady's Catholic Church in Medley's Neck with Rev Robert Kosty pastor as the celebrant Interment followed in Charles Memorial Gardens in Leonardtown.
Pallbearers were Thomas Merle Norris Jr., Joseph Andrew Norris. James Michael Norris. Joshua Shane Norris. Jacquelyn Michelle Quade and Jennifer Lynne Norris. Honorary pallbearers were Eleanor Anne Vaniglio and Jeanette Marie Abell.
