William L. "Willie" Sanderson, 23, of East 13th St., died about 5 p.m. Monday after being shot in his uncle's home on Edison Road. Mr. Sanderson was born Sept. 11, 1971, in South Bend, and was a lifelong area resident. He is survived by a fiance, Holly Church of Mishawaka; a daughter, Sarah Genevieve Hindberg of Spokane, Wash.; his parents, Blanche E. Sanderson of Mishawaka and Bill L. Sanderson of Spokane; two sisters, Tammie Merrill of Mishawaka and Lori Gotha of Indianapolis; and four brothers, Jack Merrill and Randy Merrill, both of South Bend, Michael Merrill of Mishawaka and Mark Merrill of Granger.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3402 Lincoln Way W., South Bend. Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, South Bend. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County Inc.
