Arlene Kay Burnett Shepard
June 27, 1954 - June 6, 2017

Arlene Shepard joined her parents and grandparents in heaven on Tuesday, June 6, 2017.

Arlene is survived by two daughters, Andrea Robinson and Jamie Wopperer, six grandchildren, KC Henry, Savanna Stuart, Riley Peterson, Rubee Peterson, Tylor Genn and Jade Genn, and three great-grandchildren, Kaizlee and Logan Henry and Josiah Stuart. She is also survived by three siblings, Arthur Burnett of Bremond, Texas, Allen Burnett of Dumas, and Alesia Burnett Grist of Amarillo. Arlene was predeceased by parents WB Burnett and Katherine Burnett Crawford as well as grandparents WW and Stella Burnett and Pat and Homer Beach, all of Dumas.

Arlene was a thoroughly practical woman, born a little late for her lifestyle. A pioneer woman at heart, she loved cooking, growing prize-winning vegetables and prided herself on being quite handy with tools and a paintbrush. Generous to a fault, if you received a gift from Arlene the goal was to make you a better cook, gardener or handyman (or woman).

Arlene's contagious laugh will be greatly missed. We will remember her as our Mexicali Rose.

Remembrances may be made at the home of granddaughter KC Henry at 706 Floyd in Dumas. A memorial will be planned on her birthday, June 27, at Temple Baptist Church - 311 N Maddox, Dumas, Texas at 6pm. Grady Burkhalter will officiate and we welcome all to attend.
