OCEANA -- Izetta Jane Tilley 69, went home to be with the Lord Monday, July 13, 2009, in CAMC Memorial following a short illness.

Born January 25, 1940, in Oceana she was the daughter of the late Oliver Wetzel and Theda Madeline Ellis Clay.

Zettie was a member of Joseph Bapstist Church in Lynco, she worked at Montgomery Wards in Oceana and worked for Magic Mart for 10 years.

Zettie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed walking with friends and planting flowers, taking pictures. But most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother Oliver Wetzel "Buddy" Clay Jr.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 53 years, Phillip R. Tilley Sr. of Oceana; two sons, Phillip R. Tilley Jr. of Oceana and James E. Tilley and wife, Lynn of Lynco; a daughter, Melinda Sue Cook and husband Phillip, of Fairdale; five sisters, Juanita Walker and husband, Butch of Bassett, Va., Nancy Jeffery and husband, Dale of Lynco, Brenda Champion and husband, Wally of Marion, Ind., Lillian Bailey and husband, Kermit and Teresa Runyon and husband, Frankie, all of Lynco; one brother, Steve Clay and wife, Belinda of Pineville; four grandchildren, Jason Arlin Tilley, Zachary James Tilley, Kayla Renee Cantley and Mandy Nicole Daniel; three great-grandchildren, Hunter Ray Cantley, Talon Phillip Cantley, Dustin Edward Daniel; special dear friends, Jerry, DeeDee, Margie and Thelma; several nieces and nephews and a host of family and friends.

A celebration of Zettie's 11 a.m. Friday, July 17, 2009, at Adam Toler Memorial Chapel with Rev. William Cook officiating. Zettie will be laid to rest in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Beckley.

Casketbearers will be Phillip Cook, Jason Lanore, Roger Cantley, Brian Jeffery, Michael Jeffery and Jeff Martin.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. today, Thursday, July 16, 2009, at Adam Toler Memorial Chapel.
