Born on September 28, 1928, in Radford, VA, he was the son of the late Edgar B. Williams and Bessie (Wilson) Williams.
He attended Virginia Polytechnical Institute, was retired from Lockwood-Greene Engineers after 30 years of service, and was a member of Evangel Cathedral and a U.S. Army Veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Ashley Williams; a daughter, Dawn Williams Patterson and her husband David of Roebuck; two sons, Mark K. Williams and his wife Sundra of Woodruff, and Nathan D. Williams of Roebuck; four grandchildren, Jonathan Patterson, Rachel Owens and her husband Joel, Jason D. Williams, and Jessica Lynn Williams; and three sisters, Marie Abee of Chriansburg, VA, Peggy Hammond of Radford, VA, and Bette Wampler of Springfield, VA.
He was predeceased by a son, Glenn E. "Chip" Williams, II; and a sister, Julia Johnston.
Visitation was 2:30-3:45 PM on Thursday, February 22, 2007, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel.
Funeral services followed at 4:00 PM at the Chapel conducted by the Rev. Jan King and the Rev. David Powell. Burial was in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
