Margie May Liechty, 94, of Leo, passed away on Monday, June 5, 2017 at The Cedars in Leo, Ind. Born on May, 7, 1923 in Fisher, Ill., she was a daughter of the late Alvin and Elizabeth (Heiser) Birky. Margie was a wonderful homemaker for many years and attended Central Ministries. A selfless and gentle spirit, her passion was her family, her home and serving others. Margie enjoyed gardening, canning, and farming. She is survived by her children, Leon (Pauline) Liechty of Lillian, AL., Steven (Linda) Liechty of Pensacola, FL., Darrell (Carrol) Liechty of Pensacola, FL., Neil (Trish) Liechty of Lagrange, GA., Dawn (Jacob) Gingerich of Durango, CO., and Karla (Joey) Miller of Spencerville; 20 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild; brother, Eldon (Jan) Birky of Archbold, Ohio; and brother-in-law, John King of Goshen. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Liechty; grandson, Mark Alan Liechty; sisters, Delilah Stamm and Edith King; and daughter-in-law, Nancie Liechty. Funeral Service will be at 11:00am on Monday, June 12, 2017 at Central Ministries, 5801 Schwartz Rd., Fort Wayne. Calling will be from 2-6pm on Sunday, June 11, 2017 at Hockemeyer and Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Rd., Fort Wayne. Graveside Service will be at 10:00am on Monday, June 12, 2017 at Leo Memorial Cemetery, Leo.
