MRS. JANE B. PENNEWELL
Jane Burton Pennewell, 79, wife of the late J.D. Pennewell and a resident of Burke, Va., died Monday, Feb. 12, 2007 at Burke Health Care Center, Burke. Born Sept. 10, 1927, Mrs. Pennewell was the daughter of the late Clarence Burton and Ester Baker. She attended Mary Washington College, and was a teacher. She was a member of Eastern Star Chapter #62 and Christ United Methodist Church, Chincoteague. Mrs. Pennewell is survived by a daughter, Anne Sharp of Virginia; a son-in-law, Barry Sharp of Virginia; sisters, Sally Edwards Black and Mary Boundy, both of Virginia; brother-in-law, Gary Boundy of Virginia; grandchild, Kati Sharp of Virginia; and sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Burton and Patricia Burton, both of Virginia. Other than her husband who died July 9, 1977, she was predeceased by her brothers, Donald Burton, Buddy Burton and Dr. William Burton. A religious service was held at Christ United Methodist Church on Saturday, Feb. 17, at 11 a.m. The Rev. Travis DeLoach officiated. Interment was in Downing Cemetery, Oak Hall. Arrangements were made by Salyer Funeral Home, Chincoteague.
