Eva Bach-Herrington lived a long and full life. From her humble beginnings in Connersville, Indiana, she worked hard to raise her family and enjoy the fruits of a good life. She loved to experience and appreciate the world around her and did so by becoming a seasoned traveler. Eva did many things in her life, all of which shaped her into the person her family and friends loved dearly.

In the year 1918, the United States was in the midst of an important change as the war in Europe pushed toward an end. With thousands of young soldiers returning home, the economy boomed to meet peacetime demands. It was the beginning of an era of prosperity and happiness, but Donald and Lottie Henthorn of Elkhart, Indiana were in positive spirits for another reason. On June 1, 1918, they were blessed with the birth of their beautiful daughter, Eva. Eva was one of four children in her family. She led a typical childhood of the time, growing up in the close-knit community of Connersville with her brothers, Donald Jr. and Joe, and sister, Betty.

Eva received her education in the area schools, and went on to marry her high school sweetheart, Richard "Dick" Bach. Her father not only gave the bride away at their lovely ceremony in Connersville, but also married the happy couple. Over the next few years, Dick and Eva were blessed with three children: Richard "Jack" (1941), Sue Ann (1945), and Jenny (1952). Before their daughter Jenny was born, the couple moved their family to Kalamazoo, Michigan, where they put down roots and created many years of wonderful memories with family and friends. Years later, after Dick passed away, Eva found love again with a mutual friend, Bernard B. Herrington, and they were eventually married. However, he also passed away after some time together.

Besides being a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother, Eva loved to travel the world, taking unforgettable trips to the Caribbean, South America and all throughout the United States and Europe. In her quieter moments at home, she loved to work in her garden, read and play the organ and piano. Eva was a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary in Lakeport, California. All who knew and loved Eva will treasure her memory.
