Rhetta Gale Aaseth of Issaquah, WA passed away March 19, 2017. Rhetta was born on May 22, 1919 in Yankton, South Dakota, the oldest of four children of Blanche Barrington Dilley and Monroe Dilley. She was raised in nearby Mission Hill, SD, where she graduated from high school.

She married Elmer Alfred Aaseth on February 12, 1944 in Mission Hill, SD. Soon after their wedding they left South Dakota for California. They first lived in South San Francisco and then settled in San Mateo, CA where they bought a house and raised their two daughters. After retiring, they moved to Citrus Heights, CA and then spent their final years in Redmond and Issaquah, WA.

Rhetta was a deeply religious woman whose faith in God was paramount in her life. She was a member of the Lutheran Church in the community that she lived. She was very active in church functions and helped out in any way that she could. Volunteering at the food bank was very important to her and she enjoyed being in the company of other like-minded parishioners.

Rhetta loving dancing - and it's how she met Elmer, at a dance in Gayville, SD where Elmer attended High School. Even when she was in her 80's and early 90's when she heard the right kind of music she would have to get up and dance, sometimes even by herself. When she could no longer do that, she had her toes tapping.

Rhetta also enjoyed traveling with her husband. Sometimes they were joined by Rhetta's sister Donna and her husband, and the four of them drove around many parts of the U.S. including Hawaii. Rhetta & Elmer were also fortunate to be able to tour abroad including Israel, Ireland, New Zealand, Canada and Mexico.

She also enjoyed flower gardening, card games and she especially liked to play scrabble.

Rhetta is survived by her two daughters Rhonda Aaseth of Carmichael, CA and Cheryl (and husband Mike) Jenkins of Fall City, WA. She is also survived by her sister Donna McCarville of Mountain Home, Arkansas. She will also be missed by two grandchildren and four great grandchildren: grandson Joshua Jenkins and his wife Denise Hurst and their daughter Jessica and grand daughter Sarah (and husband Rodney) Moore and their children: Katelyn, Izabella and Micheala. Rhetta was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 71 years Elmer Aaseth who passed away in 2015 and by two brothers Dwight and Garrell formerly of Rockford, Illinois.

Rhetta's graveside service will begin at 11 am on Tuesday March 28, 2017 at Upper Hillside Cemetery, 16 Mt. Olympus Drive SW, Issaquah, WA 98027. Friends are also invited to share memories and sign the family's on-line guestbook at www.flintofts.com
