On May 26, 2017, William Kizer Jr., 92, was reunited with his loving wife of 58 years, Bonita Faye Kizer and his daughter Barbara E. Welch.

He was a Yuba-Sutter resident for over 30 years. William enlisted in the U.S. Navy on September 19, 1942. He saw action during the invasion of Tarawa and later was stationed aboard the USS Princeton that was sunk (October 1944) during the battle of Leyte Gulf, Philippines, he then was assigned to the USS Comner which participated in the battle of Okinawa. After his WW2 service he went on to work for the Chevron Oil Refinery, retiring on May 1, 1979.

William is survived by his son, William K. Kizer of Yuba City, CA. Two brothers, David Kizer of New York and Arthur Kizer of Paradise, CA. Seven grandchildren, fifteen great- grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to the Yuba-Sutter Veteran's Stand Down Office at 604 B. Street, Marysville, CA 95901.

A private family service will be held. Arrangements and inurnment are under the direction of Ullrey Memorial Chapel.Send Condolences to www.appealdemocrat.com
