Mr. Hughes, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Henry Hughes was born in Scotts Hill, Tenn., February 9 1880 and died August 25, 1950. He was united in marriage to Miss Dottie May Teroy in 1901 and to them were born one son, who was killed in World War II, and four daughters, two preceding him in death, leaving Mrs. Beulah Boone of Portageville and Mrs. Grace Fisher of Hayward.
He was a member of the Church of Christ and also a mason. Masons had charge of the funeral at the interment in the Portageville Cemetery. Russell Undertakers of Piggott, Ark. was in charge.
