Theron "Bud" W. Miller Sr. 84 of Bethlehem passed away peacefully on Friday June 2, 2017 surrounded by his family at the Morrison Nursing Home in Whitefield.


He was born in Franconia, NH on October 30, 1932, the son of Alice Yvonne Delage and Warren Miller. Bud grew up in Franconia where he was a student at Dow Academy. As a young man he loved to ski, hunt, fish, and play golf, passions he would eventually pass on to his four sons.


After graduating Bud enlisted in the US Army on February 7, 1950. While stationed in Germany he enjoyed skiing the German and Austrian Alps where he won numerous ski races. He received an honorable discharge on March 12, 1953, and continued to serve his country for several years in the Army National Guard.


Bud met and married the love of his life, Ruth Dexter, in April of 1954. They were married for 47 years and raised four sons. He worked for Jack Cyr Plumbing and Heating before starting his own plumbing business in 1962. He served for many years as a commissioner to the Bethlehem Village District. He volunteered countless hours to the Bethlehem pool project, as well as many other town projects. He was a member of the Howard Shawney VFW Post 816, and was a lifelong member of the Disabled American Veterans and the National Riffle Association, as well as a member of the Odd Fellows, Maplewood Lodge #100.


He is survived by his sons: [Redacted] Miller and his wife [Redacted] of Gorham, [Redacted] Miller and his wife [Redacted] of Bethlehem, [Redacted] Miller and his wife [Redacted] of Littleton, and [Redacted] Miller of Bethlehem. His seven grandchildren, [Redacted] Mardin, [Redacted] Miller, [Redacted] Miller, [Redacted] Plog, [Redacted] Decosta, [Redacted] Miller, and [Redacted] Miller; Nieces: [Redacted] Jesseman, [Redacted] ([Redacted]) Fournier, [Redacted] Ainsworth, [Redacted] Edmunds, [Redacted] ([Redacted]) Gowitzke, and [Redacted] Grammo. He was predeceased by his wife, Ruth, and his sisters, Laura Coffran, and Beatrice Hunt, nephew Richard (Dickie) Miller, nieces Carol Lee (Hunt) Griffin, Charlene Brown, Laura Lee Parker.


Visiting Hours will be Sunday, June 4 2017 from 4-6 PM at Ross Funeral Home, 282 West Main St. Littleton. There will be a Celebration of Bud's life on Monday June 5, 2017 at 10AM at the Durrell Memorial United Methodist Church, 2057 Main St. Bethlehem, NH. Interment will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Franconia, NH. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made, in Bud's memory, to the Bethlehem Emergency Services, PO Box 189 Bethlehem, NH 03574, or the Morrison Nursing Home, 6 Terrace St. Whitefield, NH 03598.
