MATTOX -- Mrs. Bessie Luciana Mattox, 84, of Holton, Kans., died Saturday, June 2, 1979, at a Topeka hospital.
She was born March 15, 1895, at Robinson, the daughter of Homer and Caroline Lange Truex. She had lived in Holton, since moving from Robinson in 1935.
Mrs. Mattox was a member of the United Presbyterian Church, United Presbyterian Women, Phebe Circle, Women's Fellowship Sunday School Class, Elk Valley Grange and the Violet Club, all at Holton.
She was married to Marshall Mattox February 11, 1919, at Hiawatha. He died January 1, 1961.
Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Velma Mathena, Minneapolis, Minn.; and two brothers, Byron Truex and Orrin Truex, both of Robinson.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 5, 1979, at Mercer Funeral Home, Holton. Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Robinson.
Mercer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. -The Hiawatha Daily World, Mon. June 4, 1979.
