Charles Milton "Snooks" Bishop, born to the Goose Lake ranching family of W.D. "Bill" and Lydia Bishop, passed away unexpectedly in his sleep at his Alturas home on Friday, March 23, 2007.
Mr. Bishop was a very active 86-year-old, who had managed Ash Valley Ranch and Lakeshore Ranch among his ventures through the years. He was born October 2, 1920, and was a World War II veteran, serving at Iwo Jima with the U.S. Navy.
Graveside services will be held at the Davis Creek Cemetery at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 14. That same day, a memorial service will follow at 1 p.m. in the garden of Mr. Bishop's Alturas home at 802 Park Street, with a reception to follow.
