Sarah Estelle Adair, 94, of 896 Collard Valley Road, Cedartown, passed away Thursday, Dec. 9, 2004. She was born Dec. 17, 1909 in Polk County and was a member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church, and was the oldest living member. Mrs. Adair was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Sally Estelle Carroll Lewis; husband, James Arthur Adair, Sr.; three children, James Arthur Adair, Jr., Ralph Edward Adair and Margaret Ann Cook; seven brothers and sisters and nine half brothers and sisters. Survivors include two sons, Charles Mickey Adair of Savannah and Jerry Odom Adair of Kennesaw; a sister, Lucy Locklear of Rome; ten grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services were conducted Sunday, Dec. 12, 2004 at 3 p.m. in the Oak Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Billy Brown officiating with interment in the Northview cemetery. The family requests that flowers please be omitted and memorial contributions made to the Oak Grove Baptist Church. Pallbearers asked to serve were Danny Adair, Tom Cook, Tony Cook, Charles Knight, Jack Evans and George Wallace. (Cedartown Standard, Cedartown, GA, December 16, 2004)
