He made his home his entire life in the Blue Mound community, near Pottersville, on the same farm on which he was born.
He was a livestock dealer and was engaged in farming.
He always took an active interest in the affairs of his community.
He was a member of the Congregational Methodist Church for 53 years, having his membership in the Spring Creek Methodist Church. It was through his untiring efforts, the Spring Creek Church was organized, which is now active in the Blue Mound Community.
He married Rhoda Agnes Breedlove, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Breedlove, Feb. 7, 1905 at Pottersville. She died in May 1937.
On July 5, 1945 he married Mrs. Naomi Shelley, who survives; as do three step-sons, Earl Shelley and Sam Shelley, Independence; Paul Shelley, West Plains; a step-daughter Bessie Teft, Kansas City; a brother, Luther Wright of Pottersville.
Four brothers and four sisters preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held yesterday afternoon in Spring Creek Methodist Church with Rev. James Sharp and Rev. R.R. DeBoard officiating. Elk Creek choir sang "O Come Angel Band" "It Is Well With My Soul" and "I Will Meet You in the Morning". Burial was in the Blue Mound Cemetery, under the direction of Robertson Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were John Roberson, Dave Roberson, Hershell Parrett, Arch Pentecost, Roy Clark and John Rogers.
