Hill City Man Died; Funeral Mass Tuesday. Hill City. Tom S. Burns, resident of Hill City for the past 13 years, died at his home here Sunday. Funeral services well be held Tuesday at 9 a.m. in the St. Rose of Lima Church with Fr. Cornelius Meade officiating, and burial will be in the Hill City Cemetery. A rosary service will be held tonght at 7:30, in the Hobart Funeral Home. Burns was born in Berlin, Minn., April 16, 1880, and lived in Minnesota for 28 years. He moved to Perkins County in 1908 was was married at Meadow, Nov. 11, 1909, to Elizabeth Richter. The couple lived in that county for 15 years then moved near Bowman, N.D. where they spent 16 years farming in that region. Until about six months ago, Burns was employed at the Trask Service Station in Hill City. Survivors include his widow, three daughters, Mrs. Floyd Robertson, Hill City; Mrs. Andrew Britton, Watersmeet, Mich.; and Mrs. Carl Hoglund, Sterling, Colo.; two sons, Donald and Allen Burns of Bowman; and two brothers William of Ellendale, Minn.; and John of Tyndall. One daughter, Rita preceded him in death in 1937, a long with two sisters, Anna Theresa Tyrrell in 1916 and Margaret Ann Kast in 1947 and three brothers, George in 1889, Edward in 1943 and James in 1952.
