She was born Dec. 6, 1925, in Hanna City, Ill., to James and Nora Jane (LaFollette) French. She married Clifton Weaver, Jr. on July 2, 1954, in Peoria. He preceded her in death on May 27, 2005.
She was also preceded in death by one brother, Dean; one sister, Enid Grace and one grandson, Mark.
Georgia is survived by two sons, Al (Norma) Weaver of Peoria, Ron (Chris) Weaver of St. Peters, Mo; three granddaughters, Monica Green of Wendouree, Australia, Debra Weaver of St. Peters, Mo. and Jennifer (Craig) Stilabower of Jefferson City, Mo.; three great grandchildren, Morten Green, Carrington Stilabower and Adrienne Weaver; and two brothers, Warren (Sandy) French of Brimfield and Neil (Rachel) French of Zebulon, Ga.
Georgia was a member of Grace Church and also a volunteer as a Sunday School teacher for many years with South Side Mission in Peoria and served with the Women’s Auxiliary.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 2, 2017, at Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Morton, with Pastor Jonathan Farrell officiating. Visitation will be from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the funeral home. A graveside service will take place at 2 p.m. following services on Friday at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.
