Military Rites Given Veteran
Military funeral services for Jesse Vines Brown, veteran of the World war, who died in Colfax Sunday, were held from the Jay Chapel this afternoon by the Chowchilla and Madera Legion posts. Rev. J. L. Smith of Chowchilla delivered the funeral sermon. Vocal selections were sung by Mr. Smith, accompanied by Mrs. Delbert Secara, and Miss Dolly Dike, accompanied by Mrs. E. B. Whittaker.
The pallbearers were A. D. Davis, G. D. Swinger, Mr.Whitman, J. A. Wolfe, Harry Ellis and Wm. Byers. Burial was in Arbor Vitae cemetery.
