On November 1, 1991 he married Annabelle Long Hensley who passed away, May 5, 2006.
In addition to his wife and parents he is preceded in death by, three brothers, Osba, Hershcel and Ronnie Hensley and sisters, Ima Breeden and Ola Lam.
Hobert was a veteran of the Korean War where he received a purple heart and 5 bronze stars. He enjoyed playing checkers, hunting merkels in the spring and playing the banjo.
He is survived by his son, Terry Wesley Hensley; daughter, Barbara Ann Meadows; grandchildren, Christopher and Kevin; great grandchild, Shyleigh Ann Good; two brothers, Donnie Hensley of Harrisonburg, Terry Hensley of Illinois; sisters, Leona Lam and Lucille Dean both of Elkton and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 7-8pm on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at Kyger Funeral Home in Elkton.
A funeral service will be held at 3pm on Thursday, June 1, 2017 at Kyger Funeral Home in Elkton with Pastor Josh Shifflett officiating.
Burial will follow at Elk Run Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be sent to Dayton American Legion, 3021 John Wayland Highway, Dayton Va. 22821.
