William Kraig was struck and killed instantly by lightning. He seemed to have been struck in the neck and then it went down to his spine. He was driving a team hitched to a binder when he was struck. The hired man working for him was not far away but he and was stunned by the strike. When he was able to reach Mr. Kraig he was passed help. He was a member of I.O.O.F of Hygiene, the Columbus Encampment of Longmont and the Woodsmen of the World.
Mr. Kraig was 38 years old and is survived by his wife and two children.
