Jean's mother and her mother's sister died in a fire when Jean was very young. She and a cousin, Shirley Hinsley were raised by their grandmother, Susie (Maw) Hinsley.
The Paris News, October 26, 1987: HUGO, Ok - Jean J. Strain of Arlington died Sunday, Oct. 25, in Arlington Memorial Hospital.
Services were scheduled for 3 P.M. Monday at Moore Funeral Home in Arlington. Graveside services and burial will be at 2 P.M. Tuesday, Oct, 27 at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Hugo with Rev. Beny Hammons officiating. Lampton-Mills and Coffey has charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Strain was born Oct. 14, 1929 in Hugo.
Surviving are her husband, Tommy Joe; one son, Rickey Strain of Richland Hills, Texas; five daughters, Jeannie Johnson, Shirley Soto, Patty Honeycutt, Tina Feazell, all of Arlington, and Robin Repka of Denton, Texas; and 12 grandchildren.
