He died Wednesday in St. Vincent's Hospital there.
He was a graduate of Ohio State University and had taught in the Duval County School System in Florida. He formerly was in the Navy and served in World War II, the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He retired from the Navy as a lieutenant commander in 1964.
He was a former member of Broad Ripple Christian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Jeanne Underwood Risley; a son, Michael; a daughter, Karen Hansen; and his mother, Mrs. Ruby Risley.
