YORK Paul L. Barnhart, 85, died Mon day, February 12, 2007, at York Hospital. He was the husband of Doris J. (Gebhart) Barnhart who died November 27, 2006. Burial with full military honors will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. There will be no viewing or visitation. Mr. Barnhart was born January 5, 1922, in York, the son of the late Harry M. and Mable E. (Lookingbill) Barnhart. Mr. Barnhart was employed as a spray painter by Lyon Metal Co. for 33 years prior to his retirement. He was a veteran of the U.S. navy, serving during WWII, and served on several vessels and naval stations during his six years of military service. Mr. Barnhart was a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Dallastown; a life member of VFW Post No. 7045 in Hellam; a 54 year member of the American Legion Post No. 0799 in Pleasureville; a 19 year member of the Western York Democratic Club; and a life member of the Viking Club. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Mr. Barnhart is survived by one son, Jeffrey Barnhart; and one half sister, Anne Atkins of York.
