July 22, 2018 from Mack Wills (#46912082):
News has reached here Tuesday of the death of Mr. Gustav Rader (1863-1918) at his home in New York City. Mr. Rader, having resided in Palatka and vicinity for a number of years, had many friends here who were both grieved and surprised to learn of his untimely demise.
The deceased was born in New York fifty-five years ago, and was educated in the best schools of that section. Upon attaining his majority he engaged in the manufacture of sewer pipe from clay, at Montclair, N.J., where the firm enjoyed a most successful business.
A few years ago Mr. Rader came to Florida and was so well pleased with the Palatka section that he purchased a desirable place on the east side of the river and made his home there until moving to Palatka. After a year’s residence here he returned with his family to New York. He is survived by his wife, one daughter, Miss Helen Rader, and two brothers, Alfred and Augustus Rader, all of New York. The deceased was a popular member of the local lodge of Elks, and was held in high esteem by many friends. (Times-Herald Obituary dtd Friday, 22 Feb 1918.)
