Funeral services were held for James William Cook, 83, of Lucedale, November 18, 2001, at 2 p.m. from Sigler Funeral Home Chapel.
A native of Lamar County, he was a mechanist. A World War II Veteran and a member of First Baptist Church of Lucedale, he died November 16, at his home.
He is survived by his wife, Jimmie Cook of Lucedale; four children, Wanda M. (Richard) Brown of Lucedale; Patricia (Dwight) Reid of Satsuma, Ala., Sylvia C. (Ray) Hunter of Saraland, Ala. and Don E. (Patti) Smith of Lucedale, 11 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
He is also survived by two brothers, Charles Cook and Raymond Cook and six sisters, Audie Mae Patton, Natalie Howell, Nila Ree Plagen, Juanita Corley, Laverene Rouse and Jean Hayden.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ella Louise Cook, a grandchild, Nicholas Brown and sisters and brothers, Gladys Adcock, Lucille Chambliss, Vernon Cook, Donald Cook and Carlton Cook.
Interment was held at Oak Grove Cemetery with Rev. John Henry and Rev. Tony Minehardt officiating the services.
Pallbearers were grandsons, Bart Brown, Karl Brown, Olen Brown, Gregory Smith, Daniel Smith and Keith Smith.
