Janet Gardner

PRICE-Janet Selander Gardner passed away at home on May 23, 2017 with her family gathered by her side at age 79.

She was born July 28, 1937 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Hyrum M. and Dorothy Fuller Selander. She married Roland K. Gardner September 5, 1956 in Spokane, Washington and was later sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

As a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints she served in numerous callings, this includes the Relief Society, Primary Presidency, visiting teacher, 15 years as the Nursing Home Co-Coordinator alongside her husband Roland at Parkdale Nursing Home and a devoted neighbor and friend. She enjoyed gardening, numerous outdoor activities such as her women’s jogging group, and health and nutrition, but above all her greatest passion was her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She provided a Christ like love for everyone she knew.

As a mother she was truly our protector from the world, carrying the weight and burden of raising the seven of us with grace and dignity. We are so blessed, to have been born to a woman that was truly chosen to carry forth Gods plan, to instill in her children the knowledge, faith and love of our Heavenly Father and the ultimate sacrifice of His son Jesus Christ. It is now upon us as imperfect as we are to continue our Mother’s legacy. She is survived by her husband Roland K. Gardner and her seven children, Keith (Natalie), Doug (Jayline), Hans (Shirleen), Dianna (Tracy), Richard (Theresa), Lisa (Rich), Jon (Shana); brother, Jimmy (Jane) Selander; 33 grandchildren and 39 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Hyrum M. and Dorothy Fuller Selander; her brother, Richard Selander; and her grandson, Dayton W. Gardner.

Funeral service, Tuesday, May 30, 2017, 11:00 a.m., Price Fifth LDS Ward, (545 East 400 North) in Price. Family will receive friends at Mitchell Funeral Home Monday evening from 7:00-9:00 p.m. and at the church Tuesday one hour prior to service. Interment, Cliffview Cemetery in Price. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home
