Ellen K. Lawler, 69, 907 Northfield Drive, Lebanon, died Monday at St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis where she had been a patient for one week.

She was born December 12, 1924 in Mulberry a daughter of the late Harry and Stella Osmun. She was first married to Robert G. Thornton in Frankfort in 1944 he died in 1966. She married Jack H. M. Lawler in Indianapolis on July 17, 1981; he survives.

She was a 1942 graduate of Rossville High School and a member of the Valley Mills Christian Church, Indianapolis and the Lebanon Senior citizen club.

Mrs. Lawler did accounting payroll work for Miller's Restaurant, Colfax, Gene Lewis Ford, Lebanon and Mack Trucks Indianapolis. She worked at Indiana Insurance Indianapolis for 15 years retiring in 1986.

Surviving include a daughter Mrs. Thomas (Penny) Bogan, Lebanon; sisters Alberta Myers and Mable McNew and two grandchildren. A brother preceded her in death.
