Jack H. M. Lawler of Lebanon, died Sunday March 19 in Winona Hospital in Indianapolis. He was 78.

Born August 4, 1921 in Franklin, KY he was a son of Seymour Hubert and Ruby M. Climer Lawler. He was educated in Detroit and graduated from McKenzie High School in 1940. He moved to Indianapolis in 1947 and then to Lebanon in 1987. He entered the reserves during high school in October 1931 and served on active duty in the U. S. Navy during World War II. He continued in the reserved following the war until retiring in August 1981. He had been stationed at the Naval Armory in Indianapolis as an instructor and division chief. He worked in Indianapolis at Farm Bureau Coop as Marion Co. Petroleum Manager for several years. He then was employed at Alabama Truck and Equipment Co. for fifteen years where he retired in 1987.

He was married three times, first to Irene Lee Durnell in Indianapolis from 1945 to 1962; he then married Virginia O. Nagovin in Indianapolis in 1965 until her death in September 1977. He was married in Indianapolis in 1981 to Ellen Elizabeth Osmun Thornton Lawler. Mrs. Lawler died on May 2, 1994.

Mr. Lawler enjoyed fishing and traveling.

He was a member of Valley Mills christian Church in Indianapolis; the Lebanon Senior citizens; was formerly in the Masonic Lodge in Detroit; was a life member of the American Legion in Indianapolis and was a life member of the V.F. W. in Indianapolis.

Survivors include tow daughters Patricia I. Lawler of Carmel and Mrs.Donald Elizabeth Jo Morris of Dallas TX and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother Jospeh E. Lawler. Internment will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery.
