Gerald Lilbern Puckett, 78, of Chickasha, OK was born in Oklahoma City, OK on June 22, 1938 to Mary Lillian May Puckett (née Boteler) and Richard Gerald Puckett and passed away on May 13, 2017.

Gerald was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Sherri Lynn; and brother, Terrence Austin. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Marites Ranieces Puckett; daughters, Mary Jane (Janey) & husband Jeff Fitzpatrick, Mary Ann Sharinna Puckett & partner John Martin, Annalisa (Lisa) Liselle Puckett, and Mary Lynne Sabin & husband Jeffrey Sabin; son, Richard (Ricky) Gerald Puckett II; grandsons, Kyle, Riley, Jonah, Jacob, and Kawliga; granddaughters Karlee, Kacie, and Isabeau; and numerous nieces, nephew, and cousins.

Gerald graduated from Midwest City High School in 1956. He then proudly served in the US Air Force from 1957 to 1961 as a dental technician and the US Air Force Reserves from 1961 to 1981 as a flight medic. He retired from federal civil service at Tinker Air Force Base in 2000, with a total of 31 years of federal service.

After retirement, he spent most of his time with his wife and grandchildren. He had a tremendous passion for ancestry and was always extremely excited about discovering new family members, allowing him to expand his family tree. His greatest love was for God and family, both of which meant the world to him. Children were his greatest joy, be they his own children or his grandchildren. He was a very gentle, kindhearted, and compassionate man who put others before himself, even if it was a detriment to himself.

Services will be held Tuesday, May 30, 2017, 10:00am at St. Luke's United Methodist Church, 222 NW 15th St, Oklahoma City, OK; interment, 2:00pm at Fort Sill National Cemetery, 2648 NE Jake Dunn Rd, Elgin, OK. All who would like to pay their respects are welcome to attend.

Memorial flowers may be sent in his name to Mercer-Adams Funeral Service at 3925 N. Asbury Ave. in Bethany, OK.
