Kathleen Agnes Pack Blue, 74, of Emmett, ID, passed away on May 20, 2017 after a long, tiring battle with cancer. She was born of goodly parents on February 21, 1943 to Roland S. and Agnes B. Pack in Gooding, ID.
Kathleen grew up happy and attended a variety of elementary schools in Gooding, ID, Vale, OR, Prairie City, OR, and John Day, OR. In 1961 she graduated from Grant Union High School in John Day. Later, she attended Blue Mt. Community College in Pendleton, OR where she received her LPN certificate and met and married the love of her life, Donald Roy Blue. They were married on November 24, 1967 and were later sealed together as an eternal family in the Idaho Falls Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. After her graduation from college, they moved to John Day, OR where she worked hard as an LPN at the Blue Mountain Hospital and at raising her family of four children.
Later moves took Kathleen to LaBarge, WY and then to Marsing, ID where she lived for 20+ years. In Marsing, she worked for the Marsing School District as both a school bus driver and the middle school librarian. In addition, she drove the bus for WiCap and Migrant Head Start, and later became a bus driver for various fire crews during fire season. Man! Did she love that job! Kathleen was quite talented and proficient at many things such as leatherwork, quilting, sewing, crochet, embroidery, reading, crafting, gardening, and canning. She enjoyed going on drives with her husband to see the mountains and together they would often travel to the Oregon and Washington coasts.
Kathleen was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and was happy to serve in many different ways, including as the Relief Society President for the Marsing ward and as a member of the Stake Primary Presidency for the Emmett Stake. She was also a lifelong scouter, working in both Cub Scouts as well as Boy Scouts. She completed Wood Badge training and earned her Wood Badge beads. She also earned several special honors including the On My Honor Award and the Silver Beaver Award.
